Being mindful is a true gift we have received as humans. Once you improve it, you’ll start to see things as they are. You’ll begin to see beauty even in mundane things, notice the patterns in nature and in people, notice the beauty in light and shadows, the beauty in the boring elements, imperfections, empty spaces — and you’ll notice the stories.

In this workshop, I will teach you how to capture the beauty of the world as it is, how to capture moments as they happen, how to make mundane things look beautiful, how to capture a story and not just an image, how to take spontaneous shots while traveling, and most importantly, how to capture the essence and energy of a place, a living being, or a thing.

Storytelling is a crucial part of photography, especially when you want to express the “stories untold.” Though Weligama is often seen for surfing and beaches, there’s another side to it — the side only locals see.In this workshop, I’ll guide you through the busy markets, the beach, and hidden corners where daily life unfolds in its raw beauty.

You’ll learn how to:

• Notice and frame authentic street moments
• Capture people, culture, and details without being intrusive
• Capture strangers without hesitation
• Work with natural light and shadows, elements and shapes
• Work with color theory
• Tell stories through your photos, rather than just taking pictures

This workshop is not about technical perfection , it’s about training your eyes to truly notice. Whether you’re using a phone or a camera, you’ll leave with photos that capture the soul of Weligama.
