WHO AM I :
I’m Kaku, a Sri Lankan explorer with a love for travel photography and motorcycle travel. I’ve always had this urge to explore the unknown, discover hidden places that most people overlook, meet different people, and seek adventures beyond the ordinary. I’m drawn to the roads less travelled, the hidden corners of the country, and the experiences you won’t find in a typical travel guide.
PAST LIFE :
In 2013, I began studying Travel and Tourism, which led me to pursue a BSc in Events, Tourism and Hospitality Management, awarded by the University of Plymouth, England. After graduating in 2016, I began my career as a Trainee Travel Researcher and Tour Coordinator at the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau. In 2017, I was promoted to Tourism Information Officer, a role that allowed me to work closely and help travellers visiting Sri Lanka.
In 2020, I left my job to chase a dream as a travel & lifestyle photographer, a leap of faith that took me out of my comfort zone, onto the beautiful south coast of Sri Lanka.
NOW LIFE :
Over the past six years, I’ve worked as a destination photographer, creating visual stories for travellers visiting Sri Lanka.
My journey through tourism, photography, and motorcycle travel has given me a unique perspective on Sri Lanka. Exploring beyond the familiar has allowed me to discover hidden places, connect with local communities, and experience sides of the island many visitors never get to see.Today, I bring that experience into personalized travel planning, helping travellers discover Sri Lanka beyond the usual itineraries through local insights, lesser-known places, and experiences shaped around their interests.
Alongside this, I document my own adventures through photography and cinematic motorcycle films, sharing the stories, people, and places that make Sri Lanka special and inspiring others to explore with an open mind.
